Food Scraps to Compost
Make a positive difference in the environment.
Our towns are facing higher trucking costs when Long Island landfills reach capacity in June of 2024.
Our state is mandating all towns reduce greenhouse gases 40 percent by 2030.
Turn Food Waste Into Compost.
Our mission is to help households divert food waste to farms to create nutrient-rich compost.
Our goal is to reduce food waste from our waste streams 50 percent by 2025 and 100 percent by 2030.
Reduce food waste.
Households can divert their food scraps to farm compost sites. This helps reduce the amount of waste that would otherwise end up in landfill.
Create nutrient-rich compost.
By diverting food waste to farms, households can help create nutrient-rich compost for soil health. This contributes to a more sustainable environment for the future.
